SSC GD Constable recruitment 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will close the online registration for the General Duty (GD) Constable recruitment 2026 tomorrow, December 31, 2026. Candidates who are eligible and have not yet applied must complete their registration on the official website, ssc.gov.in.
The application process started on December 1, 2025, and candidates can pay the application fee online until January 1, 2026. A correction window will be open from January 8 to January 10, 2026, for candidates to make any necessary changes in their forms. The Computer Based Examination (CBE) is expected to be conducted between February and April 2026.
To be eligible, candidates must be Indian citizens and should have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) from a recognised board on or before January 1, 2026. The age of the applicant should be between 18 and 23 years. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government norms.
The selection process will begin with a Computer Based Examination, followed by the Physical Efficiency Test, Physical Standard Test, medical examination and document verification. The final selection will depend on the candidate’s performance, force preference and fulfilment of eligibility conditions.
The Computer Based Examination will consist of 80 objective-type questions carrying a total of 160 marks. Candidates will get 60 minutes to complete the paper. Questions will be asked from General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English or Hindi. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.
