SSC advances GD Constable exam scheduled for May 28 to May 27 after Bakrid holiday revision
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has revised the schedule for the SSC GD Constable examination 2026, advancing the May 28 examination to May 27 following a change in the government holiday calendar for Id-u-Zuha (Bakrid).
According to an official notification issued on Friday, the revised schedule applies to the Constable (GD) examination for recruitment to the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF, and Rifleman (GD) posts in Assam Rifles.
The change comes after the Department of Personnel and Training issued an Office Memorandum revising the holiday date for Bakrid.
“The Admit Cards for the examination now scheduled on 27th May, 2026 will be made available 2 to 3 days in advance on the official website of the Commission through the candidates’ module,” the SSC said in its official communication.
Candidates have been advised to regularly monitor the official SSC portal for fresh admit cards, examination city details, reporting time, and shift-related instructions. The SSC GD examination cycle commenced on April 27 and is scheduled to conclude on May 30.
The Commission has also cautioned candidates against depending on unverified social media posts, forwarded messages, or third-party websites for examination-related information.
Officials said all authentic updates regarding the SSC GD Constable examination will only be published through the official SSC website. Aspirants have been urged to carefully verify examination dates and centre details before travelling to their allotted venues.
