SRM University-AP hosts 10th Research Day showcasing innovation and interdisciplinary research
VIJAYAWADA: SRM University-AP conducted the 10th edition of its Research Day, bringing together research scholars, faculty, and students to present their work and exchange ideas across disciplines. The event featured presentations, discussions, and awards recognising contributions to academic research.Chief guest SSV Ramakumar addressed the gathering on energy transition from an Indian perspective. He outlined the “Princeton Wedge Approach” to climate change mitigation, which focuses on step-by-step solutions. He also highlighted trends expected in 2025, including rising gas demand, growth in solar and wind energy, reduced reliance on fossil fuels, and a shift towards advanced biofuels.Executive Director (Research) of the SRM Group, D Narayana Rao, said the institution is working to strengthen research through industry collaboration and academic integration. He noted ongoing initiatives in areas such as artificial intelligence, energy, quantum research, and green hydrogen, and announced plans to establish a Centre for ANRF-Translational Research Innovation and Initiative (ATRII).Vice Chancellor Prof. Ch Satish Kumar stated that the event reflects the university’s focus on building a multidisciplinary research ecosystem.
According to Dean Prof. C V Tomy, the event received 574 abstracts, including 441 from UG/PG students and 133 from PhD scholars, covering areas such as AI, cybersecurity, renewable energy, robotics, and social sciences.Awards were presented to participants, including 30 gold medals, two silver medals, special mentions, and seed grants. Faculty members were also recognised for their research contributions.
