RRB Group D salary and perks 2025: Check pay level, allowances and more
RRB Group D Recruitment 2025: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has extended the last date for submitting online applications for the RRB Group D Recruitment 2025. Initially scheduled to close on February 22, 2025, the application window will now remain open until March 1, 2025.
Candidates can now apply for 32,438 vacancies in Level 1 posts under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. Eligible candidates can submit their applications on the official website, rrbapply.gov.in.
The salary structure for RRB Group D employees is determined by the 7th Pay Commission, with an annual pay package ranging between ₹3 lakh to ₹5 lakh. The basic salary for Level 1 posts is ₹18,000 per month, but total monthly earnings vary between ₹22,500 and ₹25,380, depending on the posting location.
Apart from the base salary, employees receive several perks and allowances that enhance their financial stability. These include Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), Night Duty Allowance, Overtime Allowance (OTA), and Travel Allowance for distances exceeding 8 km. Employees are also entitled to Holiday Compensation, Fixed Conveyance Allowance, Special Allowance for Railway Doctors and Teachers, and Compensatory Allowance for those posted in Tribal and Scheduled Areas. Additional benefits such as Child Care Allowance, Medical Benefits, and a Pension Scheme further contribute to the attractiveness of the job.
The selection process for RRB Group D Recruitment 2025 consists of multiple stages to ensure that the most qualified candidates are chosen.
The first stage is the Computer-Based Test (CBT), which lasts 90 minutes and consists of 100 marks. The exam includes four key subjects: General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Awareness & Current Affairs.
Candidates who qualify the CBT move on to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), where only three times the number of available vacancies are shortlisted. Those who pass the PET undergo document verification, with 1.05 times the total vacancies being considered for final selection.
The last stage is the medical examination, where candidates are assessed for physical fitness. Those who meet the required medical standards receive their appointment letters, officially confirming their selection for Indian Railways.
