Re NEET 2026: NTA denies paper leak rumours, but social media reacts with scepticism
The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday rejected claims circulating on social media and messaging platforms that alleged a “leak”, advance access or “sale” of the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination question paper.
Reactions on social media reflected frustration and scepticism. One user wrote, “Amazing, isn't it? Every time there's a paper leak controversy, NTA ends up calling it "fake news." And then later, their mistake ends up getting exposed. #NEET2026”
Another user said, “Don't think if any malpractices occur further again inside the system then taking accountability will give you a free pass to escape...don't care about your tweets and your promises....just treat neet like a national level exam ...for once.”
A third reaction read, “Where was the commitment during th first paper leak and many more in history. The issue is NTA and it's panelist have sold out education in open market...that's the truth !!”
In its post, the agency said it had seen messages making such claims and called them false. It said, “These claims are false, fraudulent, and intended to mislead.” The NTA also said, “Such content is the work of organised cheating rackets that prey on the anxiety of students and their families.”
The agency further said these groups were trying to “extort money by selling fake papers” and clarified that every such claim being shared is fabricated. It also said the examination system remains secure. “The integrity of the examination process is fully intact, and every safeguard is in place to ensure a fair and secure examination for all candidates,” the statement said.
The NEET-UG exam held on May 3 was cancelled by NTA on May 12 amid allegations of a paper leak. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently probing the matter, and a re-test has been scheduled for June 21.
