QS Rankings 2026: IIM Ahmedabad breaks into global top 25 in Business & Management

If there was ever a question about whether Indian institutions are gaining ground globally, the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 offer a clear answer, they are, and at a steady pace.

This year, 99 Indian institutions have found a place in the rankings, up from 79 five years ago. Together, they account for 599 entries across 55 subjects, showing both expansion and growing academic depth. What is more telling is the direction of change: 265 entries have improved, while only 80 have slipped. At 44 per cent, India has the highest share of rising entries among major education systems.
