Punjab Police Constable recruitment 2026: Registration for 3,298 posts ends on March 30; direct link to apply here
Punjab Police will close the online application process for Constable recruitment on March 30, 2026. Candidates who have not yet applied can submit their forms through the official recruitment portal till 11:55 pm.
The recruitment is being conducted for Constable posts in the District Cadre and Armed Cadre of Punjab Police. Applications have been invited from Indian citizens for direct recruitment.
A total of 3,298 vacancies have been announced. These include posts in both district and armed cadres.
The number of vacancies may change as per requirements of the department.
Important dates
Candidates must apply online only. No other mode of application will be accepted.
Candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. Ex servicemen can apply with matriculation qualification.
They must also have studied Punjabi as a subject in matriculation or an equivalent level.
The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 28 years as on January 1, 2026. Age relaxation is given to reserved category candidates as per rules.
Selected candidates will get a starting pay of ₹19,900 per month as per Punjab Government rules.
The selection process will be conducted in three stages.
The Computer Based Test will include two papers. Paper I will decide merit, while Paper II of Punjabi language will be qualifying in nature.
There will be no negative marking in the exam.
For District and Armed Police posts, the minimum height required is 170.2 cm for male candidates and 157.5 cm for female candidates.
Candidates also need to qualify physical tests such as running, long jump and high jump.
