PM to open IIM-K conclave through video conferencing

KOZHIKODE: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the three-day

international

conclave on 'Globalising Indian Thought' hosted by the Indian Institute of Management,

Kozhikode

(IIM-K) through video conferencing on January 16.


The academic conclave to be held from January 16-18 would see the participation of academicians, public figures and the presentation of more than 100 world-class research papers, IIM-K said in a release issued here.Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will deliver the keynote address. President of Indian Council for Cultural Research and MP, Vinay Sahasrabuddhe will also address the delegates on the inaugural day.

said that the conclave was a perfect platform for the congregation of academics discussing India's contribution to the world and how India as a country can re-imagine itself and re-shape worldviews in the current context."This event is poised to be a festival of ideas and a creative synthesis of many strands of thoughts from Indian civilization," he added.

IIM-K had embraced Globalizing Indian Thought as its institutional mission a decade ago. The organisers said that churning of ideas with the amalgamation of wisdom and creativity will be an opportunity for inquisitive thinkers to look at the Indian thought with a fresh perspective and a renewed mind.

The valedictory function on December 18 will be attended by Puducherry lieutenant governor Kiran Bedi.
