THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Preparations have been completed for the smooth conduct of SSLC exams 2022-23 beginning on Thursday. As many as 4,19,362 candidates have registered for the school final exam being conducted by the general education department.

The SSLC exams would be over by March 29. General education minister V Sivankutty on Wednesday said preparations have been completed for hassle-free conduct of the exam. Question papers are kept in strong rooms and preparations at every centre were completed, he said. Considering the scorching summer heat, instructions have been given to authorities concerned to provide drinking water to students who ask for it at the exam hall.

Total number of exam centres is 2,960 - 1,170 centres in government sector, 1,421 in aided sector and 369 in unaided sector.

Besides centres in Kerala, 518 students will take the exam from centres in the Gulf and 289 candidates will appear in Lakshadweep. Unlike the last few years, exam questions are not based on focus areas this year.

Over 18,000 teachers will complete valuation of papers from April 3 to 26 at 70 centralized valuation camps. As per the current schedule, the tabulation works will start at Pareeksha Bhavan on April 5 and the results will be declared by the second week of May. TNN
