OSSSC CRE recruitment 2026: Registration window closes soon for 1,518 Forester, Forest Guard posts; direct link to apply here

The Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) is set to close the registration process on February 15, 2026, for the Combined Recruitment Examination (CRE) 2025-II. This recruitment drive aims to fill 1,518 vacancies for the posts of Forester, Forest Guard and Excise Constable in different departments of the Government of Odisha, according to the official detailed notification.

Fresh candidates who have not registered earlier can complete online registration till February 15 and submit the application by February 22, 2026. Candidates who are already registered with OSSSC can log in using their existing User ID and complete re-registration. Applications will be accepted only through the official website osssc.gov.in.

• Forester: 47 posts
• Forest Guard: 896 posts
• Excise Constable: 575 posts

All posts are Group C posts and will be filled at the district, circle or division level. Selected candidates will be posted within the concerned district, circle or division.

• Forester: Pay Matrix Level 7, Cell 1
• Forest Guard: Pay Matrix Level 4, Cell 1
• Excise Constable: Pay Matrix Level 4, Cell 1

OSSSC CRE recruitment 2026: Eligibility criteria

Candidates must have passed:

1. Bachelor of Science or equivalent for the post of Forester
2. High School Certificate Examination or equivalent for Forest Guard
3. Plus Two examination or equivalent for Excise Constable

The minimum age requirement varies by post. Candidates should check the detailed notification for age limits, relaxation rules and reservation benefits.

Applicants must be able to read, write and speak Odia and should be of good character and sound health. Physical standards will be applicable for Forest Guard and Excise Constable posts.
