However, the government has changed the timing of morning schools in the latest order issued on Saturday. As most of the places in the state record 40 degree Celsius temperature, it has changed the timing of morning classes for the students of classes I to XII. The classes will start and end 30 minutes earlier than the existing schedule.

On April 1, the state government had issued an order for students of class I to XII to go to school from 7 am to 11.30 am from April 11. This order was for all schools across the state. But according to the latest order, schools will start at 6.30 am and continue till 11 am.

“District collectors can change the timings of the school, if they feel as per the summer condition in their district. In view of the heat wave condition, schools must make proper arrangements of drinking water and other facilities,” said the official statement of the government.

During the last few days, many places including Bhubaneswar have recorded more than 40 degree Celsius temperature. Heatwave-like conditions have affected the normal life of people in the state.
