NIFTEE 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has again extended the registration deadline for the National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination (NIFTEE) 2026. The decision was taken after a request from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) to allow more candidates to apply for the exam.
According to the latest official notice, candidates can now submit the NIFTEE 2026 application form without late fee till January 16, 2026. The extension aims to support wider participation, especially after the addition of new examination cities.
Earlier, the registration window was scheduled to close on January 13, 2026. With the revised schedule:

NTA will conduct the NIFTEE 2026 for admissions to Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Lateral Entry, Artisan, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes for the 2026–27 academic session.
The entrance examination will be held across 102 cities in India in English and Hindi.
The exam date, centre, and shift details will be mentioned on the admit card.
Admissions will be conducted for the following programmes:
Candidates applying under NRI, Foreign National, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Person of Indian Origin (PIO), and SAARC categories will be processed directly by NIFT.

NIFTEE 2026 registration: What has changed
- The last date to apply without late fee has been extended
- The late fee window and correction window have also been shifted
- The number of exam cities has increased from 100 to 102
All other eligibility rules, exam pattern, and admission guidelines remain unchanged.

About NIFTEE 2026 examination
NTA will conduct the NIFTEE 2026 for admissions to Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Lateral Entry, Artisan, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes for the 2026–27 academic session.

- General Ability Test (GAT) will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode
- Creative Ability Test (CAT) will be conducted in Pen-and-Paper Test (PBT) mode
The exam date, centre, and shift details will be mentioned on the admit card.
NIFTEE 2026: Programmes covered
Admissions will be conducted for the following programmes:
- Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) – GAT + CAT, followed by Situation Test
- Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech.) – GAT only
- Master of Design (M.Des.) – GAT + CAT + Personal Interview
- Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M.) – GAT + Personal Interview
- Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech.) – GAT + Personal Interview
- Lateral Entry (NLEA) – For eligible candidates
- Artisans Category – For traditional craft practitioners
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) – Written Test, Research Proposal, and Interview
