NIOS extends registration deadline for 6-month bridge course in Primary Teacher Education: Check direct link to apply here

NIOS registration 2025: The National Institute of Open Schooling has extended the last date for the 6 Months Certificate Course (Bridge) in Primary Teacher Education. The latest deadline for the course is January 19, 2026. Aspirants who wish to take part in the course but have not filled the form yet can do so now. The course bestows professional development for teachers who already hold a B.Ed and wish to continue at teaching at the primary levels..

National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) under the Ministry of Education has designed and will supervise the course. It is mandatory for teachers whose appointments were made on the basis of a B.Ed. qualification between June 28, 2018, and August 11, 2023. Teachers who fail to complete this course within the stipulated time frame may lose their appointments. Candidates must know that if they are seeking fresh appointments or subsequent employment as teachers, it might not apply to them.

NIOS registration 2025: Current statistics

So far, a total of 66,331 candidates have registered for the course. Out of these, 62,244 have paid the registration fee, while 4,087 remain unpaid. The registrations include 36,551 male teachers, 29,774 female teachers, and 6 teachers from the third-gender category.

Eligible teachers must complete their registration before the deadline. The steps are straightforward:

• You can search for the official registration portal for the 6 Months Certificate Course (Bridge) in Primary Teacher Education: bridge.nios.ac.in.
• On the homepage, look for the tab stating “Enroll Now”
• Click on it. A prompt will appear, you can read the instructions and click on proceed.
• A new window will open where you need to fill in your basic details. Ensure that all the information is correct.
• Complete the registration form with accurate personal and professional details.
• Pay the required registration fee to confirm your registration.
• Download and save the registration confirmation for future reference.
