NEET UG is the single entrance exam for admission to MBBS, BDS and other undergraduate medical courses across India. Knowing the syllabus early will help you plan your study schedule and focus on important areas.
Biology carries the highest weight. It includes topics from both Botany and Zoology. You need to study diversity in living organisms, plant and animal structure, cell structure and function, plant physiology, human physiology, reproduction, genetics and evolution, biotechnology, biology in human welfare, and ecology and environment. All topics are taken directly from NCERT Class 11 and 12 books.
Physics includes basic concepts taught in higher secondary classes. Important topics are units and measurements, motion, laws of motion, work and energy, gravitation, properties of matter, thermodynamics, kinetic theory, waves, electrostatics, current electricity, magnetism, electromagnetic induction, optics and modern physics. Questions will test how well you understand concepts and apply formulas.
Chemistry is divided into Physical, Organic and Inorganic sections. Physical Chemistry covers atomic structure, states of matter, thermodynamics, equilibrium, redox reactions, electrochemistry and chemical kinetics. Organic Chemistry includes hydrocarbons, reactions, functional groups, biomolecules and polymers. Inorganic Chemistry includes periodic table, chemical bonding, coordination compounds, and p-block and d-block elements.
NMC has made it clear that you should not study anything outside this list. Most NEET questions come directly from NCERT lines, diagrams and examples.
