The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 registration process will close today, March 8, 2026. Candidates who want to appear for the medical entrance examination must complete the application process before the deadline on the official website.

Courses covered through NEET UG 2026

NEET UG scores are used for admission to several undergraduate medical courses across the country. These include:

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
• Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
• Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc and AH)
• Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
• Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS)
• Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS)
• Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)

The examination is also required for candidates applying to the Military Nursing Service (MNS) for admission to Bachelor of Science (BSc) Nursing courses offered at Armed Forces Medical Services hospitals.

NEET UG 2026 application fee

The application fee depends on the category of the candidate:

• General: ₹1,700
• General–Economically Weaker Section (EWS) / Other Backward Classes–Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL): ₹1,600
• Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) / Third Gender: ₹1,000
• Candidates outside India: ₹9,500

NTA instructions for uploading photograph

The NTA has issued important instructions for uploading photographs in the application form.

Candidates must ensure that their face occupies at least 80% of the photograph. The face should be clearly visible and should not be covered with caps, glasses or goggles, according to NTA.

Applicants can upload the photo using a web camera on their computer or by scanning a QR code using a mobile phone to capture the image.

The photograph uploaded during the application process will be verified on the day of the examination. Therefore, candidates must ensure that the photo is clear and accurate.
