NEET 2026: The registration process for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 will close soon. Candidates who want to appear for the medical entrance examination must complete their application before March 8, 2026 on the official website neet.nta.nic.in.

The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). As per the official public notice issued on February 8, 2026, applications are being accepted only in online mode.

Students who have not yet applied are advised to complete the process well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues.

• Registration start date: February 8, 2026
• Last date to apply: March 8, 2026 (till 9:00 PM)
• Last date to pay application fee: March 8, 2026 (till 11:50 PM)

NEET UG 2026: Exam details

The examination will be conducted in pen and paper mode.

• Exam duration: 180 minutes (3 hours)
• Exam timing: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM IST

The exam will be available in several languages including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

NEET UG scores are used for admission to several undergraduate medical programmes across India, including:

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
• Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
• Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc and AH)
• Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
• Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS)
• Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS)
• Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)

The exam is also mandatory for candidates applying to Bachelor of Science (BSc) Nursing courses under the Military Nursing Service (MNS) at Armed Forces Medical Services hospitals.

NEET UG 2026: Application fee

The application fee differs according to category:

• General category: ₹1,700
• General-Economically Weaker Section (EWS) / Other Backward Classes–Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL): ₹1,600
• Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) / Third Gender: ₹1,000
• Candidates outside India: ₹9,500
