NEET UG 2026 registration deadline extended to March 11: NTA issues notice, details here
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the registration deadline for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses (NEET UG) 2026. Candidates can now submit their application forms until March 11, 2026, by 9 pm through the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. The earlier deadline was March 8, 2026.
The application fee payment window will remain open until 11:50 pm on March 11. NEET UG is the national entrance examination for admission to MBBS, BDS, and other undergraduate medical programmes offered by medical institutions across India. The NEET UG 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted on May 3, 2026, in pen-and-paper mode.
The registration process for NEET UG 2026 began on February 8, 2026 on the official NTA portal. Candidates must complete the application process online, which includes registration, filling the application form, uploading required documents, and paying the application fee.
To apply, candidates must visit the official website and create login credentials. After logging in, applicants need to provide personal details, academic information, and exam city preferences. They must also upload a recent passport-size photograph, signature, and other required documents before submitting the form.
The NTA will open the NEET UG 2026 application correction window from March 10 to March 12, 2026, allowing candidates to modify certain details in their submitted forms. However, key personal details such as name, date of birth, email ID, and mobile number typically cannot be changed during the correction period.
After the correction facility closes, the next steps in the exam process will include the release of the exam city intimation slip and admit cards, expected in April. The NEET UG exam will be held on May 3 from 2 pm to 5 pm, with results likely to be announced later in the year.
NEET UG remains the single national entrance test for undergraduate medical admissions, including courses such as MBBS, BDS, and several AYUSH programmes across government and private medical colleges in India.
