NEET PG Counselling 2025: MCC revises Round 3 seat matrix, adds and withdraws medical seats
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), functioning under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), has revised the seat matrix of NEET PG Counseling 2025-Round 3. The change is expected to affect those who are awaiting their allotment. The MCC has added and deducted seats from previous entries. It has received fresh data from participating medical organizations.
It has also been stated in the notification issued regarding the NEET PG 2025 counselling that the MCC was informed regarding the availability of additional seats in the Postgraduate Courses by the Medical Institute on January 22, 2026. This information has led the NEET PG Counselling 2025 seat matrix to include the availability of additional Postgraduate Seats.
Now, fresh choice filling facilities are offered to the candidates for the newly added seats. This seat matrix is revised with the availability of seats in the different medical colleges, giving aspirants another opportunity.
The change in the seat matrix, therefore, embodies opportunity as well as a sense of caution for NEET PG aspirants, especially because there are changes that a prospective student might have been unable to derive earlier, a sense that is heightened in Round 3, a level that is typically critical in these counselling procedures.
At the same time, seat withdrawal also serves as a reminder that preferences should be entered with caution, keeping in mind that candidates should keep abreast of updates regarding seat allocations, as preferences entered may have a bearing on the allotments.
As the revised seat matrix is currently live, the contenders can proceed to fill their choices for Round 3 in accordance with the counseling schedules. The MCC has suggested:
The crucial position of Round 3 in the overall NEET PG counselling. Seats filled at this stage are the result of unfilled vacancies, added vacancies, and surrendered general and reserved quotas. Exit opportunities are minimised.
Candidates from Round 3 must exercise special care, as a consequence of a seat allotment that can occur in terms of penalties applicable to candidates who fail to join or violations of qualification criteria.
