NCERT recruitment last date: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has extended the last date to apply for the Advt. No. 177/2026. It aims to fill 117 academic vacancies across its campuses. The new deadline for submission of online applications is March 6, 2026, 5:00 PM. Candidates who have not yet completed the process now have additional time to apply through the official website, ncert.nic.in.
The recruitment exercise is being conducted through direct recruitment and includes teaching as well as library positions.

Officials have clarified that applications submitted through any mode other than the official online portal will not be accepted.
The eligibility criteria, age limits, and service conditions will be governed by the latest amendments and regulations of the University Grants Commission (UGC), along with Government of India and NCERT rules.
Age relaxation and reservation benefits will be applicable as per existing norms. Candidates have been advised to carefully review:
Educational qualifications
The council has prescribed a category-based application fee structure for this recruitment cycle. Candidates belonging to the UR, OBC, and EWS categories are required to pay Rs 1000, while applicants from SC, ST, PwD, and women categories are exempted from paying any fee. The payment must be completed through the online mode during the submission of the application form.
The selection process will involve shortlisting of candidates based on their eligibility and credentials, followed by an interview. The final merit list will be prepared strictly on the basis of interview performance, in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the University Grants Commission and NCERT.
