Uncertainty over the declaration had continued for several days as discussions were held on whether the announcement should wait until a new education minister assumed office. Education department officials later decided to proceed with the publication to prevent delays in the Plus One admission schedule and the academic calendar.
Examination process concluded earlier
The SSLC written examinations were conducted from March 5 to March 30, 2026, across 3,031 examination centres in Kerala. A total of 4,17,497 students registered for the examinations this year.
Before the written examinations, Information Technology practical examinations were held from February 1 to February 14, while model examinations took place between February 16 and February 20. Evaluation of answer scripts began on April 16 and continued until early May before the examination board granted formal approval for publication of the results.
Kerala follows a nine-point grading system in SSLC examinations. Students must obtain at least a D+ grade to qualify.
