Karnataka Police Constable Recruitment 2026: Applications open for 3,395 posts; check eligibility, selection process and how to apply
Candidates who have passed PUC/Class 12 or an equivalent qualification are eligible to apply. The notification also recognises certain equivalent qualifications, including Class 12 examinations conducted by CBSE, ISC and other state boards
Candidates belonging to the General category as well as Categories 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B will have to pay an application fee of Rs 750. For SC, ST, Category-I, ex-servicemen and transgender candidates, the application fee has been fixed at Rs 500. The fee must be paid online while submitting the application form and will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Karnataka Police Constable Recruitment 2026: Selection process
The selection process for Karnataka Police Constable recruitment will be conducted in several stages, including a written examination, Physical Standard Test (PST), Endurance Test (ET), medical examination and preparation of the final merit list.
The written examination will be held in offline OMR mode and will consist of 100 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. Questions will be asked from subjects such as general knowledge, science, geography, history, the Constitution of India, the national freedom movement, mental ability and moral education. Candidates must secure at least 30 marks to qualify for the next stage of the recruitment process.
As part of the physical standards, male candidates must have a minimum height of 168 cm. Female and transgender candidates should have a minimum height of 157 cm and a minimum weight of 45 kg. Separate physical standards have been prescribed for candidates belonging to notified tribal areas and ex-servicemen.
Candidates selected through the recruitment process will undergo nine months of basic police training and will be placed on probation for a period of two years and six months. The post carries a pay scale of Rs 37,500 to Rs 76,100.
