J&K Bank apprentice recruitment 2026: 614 vacancies announced, apply till April 26
Jammu & Kashmir Bank has opened applications for 614 apprentice posts under the J&K Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026, with the online registration window running from April 20 to April 26, 2026. The engagement will be carried out under the Apprentices Act, 1961, for a one-year training period through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS). Selected candidates will be deployed across the Bank’s branches and offices based on requirement.
The J&K Bank apprentice vacancies are spread across districts in Jammu & Kashmir, the Union Territory of Ladakh, and clusters outside the region, including Delhi, Mumbai/Greater Mumbai, Lucknow, Bengaluru and Mohali. The Bank has indicated that the number of vacancies is provisional and may be revised depending on operational needs.
For J&K Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026, applicants must be graduates from a recognised university and should have passed on or after January 1, 2022. The age limit is 20 to 28 years as on January 1, 2026, with applicable relaxation for reserved categories. Candidates must also be proficient in the local or official language of the region applied for.
The notification, however, excludes certain categories. Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training, are currently undergoing such training, or have one year or more of work experience after graduation are not eligible. Applicants are allowed to apply for only one district or area.
The J&K Bank apprenticeship programme will run for 12 months. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹13,500, comprising ₹9,000 from the Bank and ₹4,500 as the government’s share through Direct Benefit Transfer. A conveyance allowance of up to ₹1,250 per month may also be provided. The Bank has stated that the apprenticeship does not lead to employment and apprentices will be relieved after completion of the training period.
The selection for J&K Bank apprentice posts will be based on a single-stage online written examination of 100 marks, conducted in English. The test will comprise 100 questions to be completed in 60 minutes, divided into two sections — General Awareness and English Comprehension (50 questions, 50 marks, 30 minutes) and Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability (50 questions, 50 marks, 30 minutes).The marking scheme includes a penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer, while unanswered questions will not attract any penalty.
Based on performance, the Bank will prepare a district-, region- and category-wise merit list, with candidates ranked in descending order of aggregate marks. In case two or more candidates secure the same score, the older candidate will be placed higher in the merit order. The notification also states that a waitlist of up to 50% of the notified vacancies will be maintained for a period of one year or until the next recruitment cycle. Final engagement will be subject to document verification and medical fitness, as per the Bank’s requirements.

Follow these steps to apply for the J&K Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026:
- Step 1: Go to the NATS portal and complete your apprenticeship registration. Make sure your profile is fully completed and keep your enrolment number safely for future use.
- Step 2: Ensure your mobile number, Aadhaar and bank account are inter-linked, and that DBT is enabled in your bank account. This is mandatory for receiving the government stipend.
- Step 3: Visit the official J&K Bank careers page.
- Step 4: Click on Apply Online in the section Engagement of Apprentices to open the application window.
- Step 5: On Clicking, you will be taken to the registration page. Click on ‘Click here for New Registration’, enter your details, and generate your registration number and password.
- Step 6: Fill in the online application form carefully. Review all details before submission, as no changes will be allowed after final submission.
- Step 7: Upload the required documents — photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration — in the prescribed format.
- Step 8: Pay the application fee online: ₹700 for unreserved categories and ₹500 for reserved categories.
- Step 9: Preview your application, submit it, and download the application form and e-receipt for your records.
