JEE Mains 2026 result: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially declared the results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 2 for Paper 1 (Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology) today, April 20, 2026. Candidates who appeared for the exam can now check and download their scorecards from the official website, which is jeemain.nta.nic.in.
According to official data, a total of 26 candidates have secured a perfect 100 percentile score in JEE Main 2026 Session 2, making them the top performers this year. To access the result, candidates need to log in using their application number along with their password or date of birth.
The NTA has also released the final answer key along with the results. Notably, two questions from the Physics section of the April 4 morning shift have been dropped.
The Session 2 exam was conducted in April 2026 in multiple shifts using Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
The exam took place across 584 centres in 319 cities, including 15 international cities.
The test was held in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and others. Around 11.10 lakh candidates registered for Session 2, out of which over 10.34 lakh candidates appeared.
Only the top 2.5 lakh candidates, based on the combined performance in Session 1 and Session 2, will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.

As per the official data, 26 candidates achieved a perfect NTA score of 100 percentile in Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.). These candidates come from different states across India, with a noticeable number from Telangana, Rajasthan, and Andhra Pradesh.
The NTA has also released the category-wise cut-off percentile for eligibility to appear in JEE Advanced 2026.
These cut-offs are based on the performance of candidates in Session 2.
The NTA clarified that the scores are normalised across different shifts to ensure fairness. The percentile score is calculated based on the relative performance of candidates in each session.
For candidates who appeared in both Session 1 (January 2026) and Session 2 (April 2026), the best score out of the two sessions has been considered for the final result.
The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 exam was conducted from January 21 to January 29. The result for this session was declared on February 16, with more than 13 lakh candidates appearing.
Candidates are advised to keep their scorecards safe, as they will be required during the counselling and admission process.
Candidates who meet the cut-off criteria will now be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2026, which is the next step for admission into Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
The NTA has also stated that results for Paper 2A (Bachelor of Architecture) and Paper 2B (Bachelor of Planning) will be released separately.
