IOCL Apprentice recruitment 2026: Notification released for 637 posts; check eligibility and direct link to apply
IOCL Apprentice recruitment 2026: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has released a new notification for the engagement of 637 apprentices at its Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex in Haryana. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online from February 7, 2026 (10 am) to February 20, 2026 (5 pm) through the official website of IOCL at iocl.com.
Candidates must also register on the required apprenticeship portal before applying.
A total of 637 apprentice posts have been announced across different trades and disciplines.
Some of the major posts include:
Out of the 637 seats, 282 are for Unreserved (UR), 63 for Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 121 for Scheduled Caste (SC), 171 for Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) (OBC-NCL), and 25 for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). There is no reservation for Scheduled Tribe (ST) in Haryana.
The training period will be 12 months for most posts, while Secretarial Assistant posts will have a 15-month training period.
Candidates must have passed the required qualification in regular full-time mode from a recognised board or university.
Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC and PwBD candidates against reserved seats).
Those who have completed their qualification more than five years ago (as on January 31, 2026) are not eligible.
Candidates with higher professional qualifications like Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Bachelor of Laws (LLB), or Master of Computer Applications (MCA) are not eligible.
The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 24 years as on January 31, 2026.
Age relaxation will be given as per government rules:
There will be no written test.
Selection will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the required qualification. A merit list will be prepared in descending order of marks.
In case of a tie in marks, the older candidate (based on date of birth) will be given preference. If the date of birth is also the same, marks in Class 10 will be considered.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. Final selection will be subject to successful document verification and medical fitness as per the guidelines of IOCL.
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per the Apprentices Act and company rules.
No company accommodation or House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be provided. Apprentices will be entitled to leave as per the rules. Selected candidates must meet the prescribed medical fitness standards.
IOCL has clearly stated that completion of apprenticeship training does not guarantee employment in the company.
Candidates must complete both Step 1 and Step 2 to successfully apply.

- For Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant): B.Sc. with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry
- For Fitter: Matric (Class 10) with Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Fitter trade
- For Technician Apprentice posts: Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline
- For Secretarial Assistant: Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)
- For Accountant: B.Com
- For Data Entry Operator: Class 12 pass (Skill Certificate required for Code 111)
