The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has officially extended the last date for admission to its July 2025 academic session. The new deadline for submission of applications is now September 15, 2025. This extension applies to all programmes offered under the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode and Online mode, with the exception of certificate programmes.
IGNOU has issued this update through its official admission portals. Prospective learners interested in pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, or other degree programmes in ODL or Online formats now have additional time to complete the admission process.
Extension not applicable to certificate programmesAccording to the latest announcement, the revised deadline is not applicable to certificate-level programmes. Admissions to these programmes will continue as per the originally declared schedule and are not covered by the extended timeline.

Eligibility and documentation requirementsTo apply, candidates must ensure they meet the minimum eligibility criteria for the desired programme. Essential documents typically include:
• Passport-sized photograph
• Scanned signature
• Proof of age
• Educational qualifications (marksheets and certificates)
• Caste or category certificate, if applicable
All documents must be uploaded in the prescribed formats during the online application process.
