The South Asia International Institute, Hyderabad, under the aegis of Sylvan International Universities Network has launched dual degrees courses in India.
Students can undertake five-years integrated programmes, Bachelor’s in Technology (B Tech) and Master’s in Technology; and B Tech and Master’s in Business Administration, in three areas — computer science and engineering, telecommunication and engineering and electronics engineering.
Post graduate programmes in engineering are moreover, on offer from National Technological University (NTU), member organisation of the Sylvan family and a fully accredited university of United States. Vice chancellor, K Anantha Padmanabhan says, ‘‘Our courses are completely industry oriented and the dual degree facility gives flexibility to students. They can save a year and at the same time they have the option to graduate with a B Tech degree after the fourth year.’’
According to Padmanabhan, students don’t have to appear for any written test to seek admission in these courses. Due weightage is given to the marks scored in the standard 10 and 12 board examinations.
