CUET UG 2026 registration ends in two days: How to apply before deadline and what comes after
With just two days left for registration, students across India are rushing to complete their applications for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2026. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam is scheduled tentatively between 11–31 May 2026 in computer-based mode. CUET scores are mandatory for admission to undergraduate programs in central, state, deemed, and participating universities.
The online registration, which began on 3 January 2026, will close on 30 January 2026 at 11:50 PM, and the application fee must be submitted by 31 January 2026. NTA has advised candidates to complete the process early to avoid last-minute issues such as website traffic delays or payment failures.
Check official advisory released by NTA here.
Aspiring candidates need to submit their applications online only via the official CUET UG portal: cuet.nta.nic.in. The university will not accept any offline applications.
Firstly students are required to register themselves as new users on the portal by providing their name, date of birth, email, and mobile number. After registering, they must complete the application form by entering personal, academic, and contact information carefully. Candidates are also required to upload scanned copies of a recent passport, size photograph, signature, and other necessary certificates in the given format.
Next, the application fee should be paid online via net banking, credit/debit cards, or UPI. After successful submission, students must download and save the confirmation page and fee receipt for future reference.
Candidates should verify all the information carefully before hitting submit and should finish their submission a long time before the deadline to be safe from unexpected technical glitches and also to get the exam centres of their choice.
After the registration is over, NTA will issue the CUET UG 2026 admit cards. Students will be able to download them from the official website a few weeks ahead of the exam. Students have to make sure that all the details printed on their admit cards are correct i. e. exam centre, date and shift.
After the exams, results will be announced on the official website. Based on their scores, students can apply to participating universities for undergraduate admissions. NTA may also provide a window for application corrections after submission, giving students a chance to fix mistakes in personal details or subject choices.
