Coal India initiates 660 Management Trainee recruitment notice released: Applications open from May 12
Coal India Limited has rolled out a major recruitment drive for young professionals, inviting applications for 660 Management Trainee positions. The online registration process will begin on May 12, 2026, and will remain open till June 11, 2026. Candidates can apply through the official website of Coal India, coalindia.in.
In regard to Rajbhasha posts, the candidate should have a postgraduate degree (MA in Hindi) with at least 60% marks. Besides, candidates with a graduation degree with Hindi and English as core subjects with a minimum of 50% marks are also eligible.
As far as company secretary posts are concerned, the candidate should have a graduate degree in any stream, and the candidate should have a company secretary qualification. It is also essential that the candidate be an Associate Member/Fellow of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).
For the post of company secretary, aspirants need to possess any degree and a valid company secretary certificate. ICSEI associate membership or fellow membership would be required for the post.
The first step in the process of selection would be the computer-based test (CBT). Two papers will comprise the CBT, where each paper will contain 100 objective questions, with each question being one mark.
In the first paper, questions would appear on General Knowledge and Awareness, Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability, and General English.
There will be no negative marking in the examination. Unattempted questions will carry no marks, making accuracy and time management the key deciding factors.
The exam duration will be three hours, designed to evaluate both conceptual clarity and subject expertise.
The application fee has been set at ₹1180 for candidates belonging to General (UR), OBC (Creamy and Non-Creamy Layer), and EWS categories.
However, SC, ST, PwBD candidates, as well as employees of Coal India Limited and its subsidiaries, are exempted from paying any fee.

- On the homepage, navigate to the “Careers” or “Jobs at CIL” section and click on the Management Trainee recruitment notification link.
- Click on “New Registration” and enter basic details such as name, email ID, mobile number, and category. A registration ID and password will be generated.
- Sign in using your user id and password and complete the online application form which will include your personal details, qualification details, and choice of disciplines.
- Upload scanned images of your photograph, signature, educational qualifications, and other important documents following the format provided.
- Pay the fee of Rs. 1180 through online mode using either debit card, credit card, or net banking. The fee is not required to be paid by candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD category and selected employees.
- Verify all the entries and download the acknowledgement page.
