CLAT 2026 counselling registration ends today: Check steps to apply and key details here
CLAT 2026 counselling: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will close the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 counselling registration process today, December 27, 2025, at 10:00 PM.
CLAT 2025 candidates who have qualified the exam and received an official counselling invite must complete their Round 1 registration before the deadline to be considered for seat allotment.
The registration is completely online and can be done on the official website, consortiumofnlus. ac. in. Only candidates who register within the stipulated time will be eligible for the first round of seat allotment. Those who miss the deadline will not have the chance to be considered in Round 1.
Only the candidates who have qualified in CLAT 2025 and received a counselling invitation from the Consortium can register. This is applicable for both Undergraduates (Bachelor of Laws LLB) and Postgraduates (Master of Laws LLM). Candidates should have their CLAT application number and password handy for logging into the portal.
Steps to register for CLAT 2026 counselling
Round 1 seat allotment results will be announced on January 7, 2026. Seats will be allotted based on CLAT scores, category, and the NLU preferences of candidates. The results will be available online on the official portal.
Candidates who get a seat must deposit the required fee and thereby confirm their admission within the specified period, which is usually about a week. Failure to pay the fee will result in cancellation of the allotted seat, which will then be offered to another candidate in the next round.
Candidates who fail to secure a seat in Round 1 will have the chance to be allotted one in the subsequent rounds of counselling scheduled for January, February, and May. In later rounds, candidates may be allowed to modify their NLU preferences.
Candidates should ensure that they complete the registration before tonight’s deadline. Keep important documents such as the CLAT scorecard and valid identity proof ready. Carefully review all details before locking NLU preferences. It is also advisable to regularly check the official counselling portal for updates and announcements.
Completing the registration on time and following the instructions carefully will help candidates smoothly participate in the CLAT 2026 counselling process and improve their chances of securing a seat in a preferred National Law University.
