Alright students, listen up! The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Annual Secondary (Theory) Examination 2026 is coming up from 17 February to 25 February, and the first golden rule is all about timing. For the first shift starting at 9:30 AM, you should reach the examination centre by 8:30 AM, and the main gate closes at 9:00 AM. For the second shift starting at 2:00 PM, entry begins at 1:00 PM, and the gates close at 1:30 PM. Late arrivals won’t be allowed in, and the responsibility lies entirely with the candidate.
But here’s something very important you must understand clearly: if any candidate tries to forcibly or illegally enter the examination premises after the gates have closed, strict action will be taken. Such students can be debarred from the examination for two years, and an FIR may also be lodged against them. So this is not just about missing an entry — it can affect your academic future seriously.
The board has also made it clear that if any Centre Superintendent allows a late candidate to appear for the examination after the closing time, disciplinary action including suspension and legal proceedings may be initiated against them. This shows how seriously the board is treating the timing rules.
Think of it this way: reaching early gives you a moment to breathe, organise your stationery, and settle your mind. Trying to rush in at the last minute? That only adds stress and chaos — and now, it can also lead to serious consequences.
Mindset Matters More Than Last-Minute Panic
The board also advises students to focus on preparation instead of last-minute panic. Get proper sleep before the exam, eat light, and carry only essential items like your admit card and necessary stationery.
Avoid unnecessary discussions outside the exam hall. Don’t compare preparation levels with friends. Exams reward discipline, preparation, punctuality, and a calm mind far more than rushed revision or risky behaviour.
Think of the BSEB exams as an opportunity to showcase your hard work — not as a life-or-death situation. Respect the rules, reach early, stay organised, and take a deep breath. You’ve put in the effort; now let it shine the right way.
