PUNE: The

British Council

has launched two free tools for improving English language for IELTS preparation and imparting user friendly techniques of reading, writing, speaking and listening- IELTS Prep App which is an interactive mobile application and understanding IELTS course, a free online programme.

A statement issued by the British Council said that, the IELTS Prep App focuses on providing guidance for listening and speaking tests along with modules on vocabulary and grammar with special IELTS test tips. The app is available for both

Android

as well as

iOS

users and is a great alternative to bundles of hard copy preparation materials.

Some of the key features include, overview of the IELTS speaking and listening tests, listening and speaking practice tests, common grammar rules explained and exercises, videos of IELTS speaking interviews among others.

With guidance provided through a video tutorial and a team of experienced IELTS educators, understanding IELTS course becomes easy and the user has an enhanced awareness of all the stages of IELTS test — reading, writing, speaking and listening. The course also provides an opportunity to have the written and spoken English assessed by co-learners.

, director, exams said at the launch, “We have launched the app with an aim to provide an authentic source that is handy, easily accessible through mobile handsets and able to deliver high quality content.”

IELTS is a globally recognized English language testing and assessment platform and is accepted by over 10,000 organisations worldwide including universities, employers, immigration authorities and professional bodies. Over 3 million IELTS tests were taken globally in 2017.
