BPSC TRE 4.0 recruitment 2026: Notification for over 46,000 vacancies to be released by April 19
BPSC TRE 4.0 notification 2026: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is expected to release the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) 4.0 notification by April 19, 2026. The recruitment drive will be conducted to fill a total of 46,882 teacher posts in the state.
According to the schedule, the registration process will begin on April 25. The written examination is likely to be held between September 22 and September 27.
The announcement comes after months of protests by candidates who were demanding clarity on the number of vacancies and the exam timeline.
The issue began in September 2025, when Bihar Education Minister Sunil Kumar had said in a press conference that the notification would be released within five days. He had also stated that vacancy details from most districts had already been collected and shared for the recruitment process. However, the notification was delayed, leading to confusion among aspirants.
Earlier, TRE 4.0 was expected to be conducted in December 2025, with results likely in January 2026. At that time, the number of vacancies was estimated to be around 26,000 to 27,000. The latest update shows a much higher number of posts.
In October 2025, hundreds of aspirants staged protests in Patna demanding the release of the notification. The protests intensified after the arrest of student leader Dileep Kumar in Darbhanga ahead of a planned demonstration. The incident led to strong reactions online, with many questioning the handling of student concerns.
Candidates had also raised concerns over differences in vacancy numbers. While the education department had indicated over 1.20 lakh posts earlier, the Bihar Public Service Commission later mentioned a much lower figure. There were also concerns related to previous exams, including allegations of a paper leak in TRE 3.0.
Meanwhile, results of TRE 3.0 for Classes 9 and 10 were declared on December 17, 2024. The results covered several subjects such as English, Hindi, Urdu, Bangla, Persian, Sanskrit, Arabic, Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Physical Education, Dance, Maithili, Lalit Kala, and Music.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website of the Bihar Public Service Commission for further updates and to download the TRE 4.0 notification once released.
