Assam HS result 2026 declared: Science surges, girls lead, Arts dominates despite dip
The Assam State School Education Board has officially announced the HS result 2026 via its website, ahsec.assam.gov.in, and resultsassam.nic.in, with a pass percentage of 89.79%. Around 3.3 lakh students appeared for the exam. There has been a slight drop in performance in Arts and Commerce streams, but a remarkable improvement in the Science stream.
Art was the largest section in Assam. In the total figure of 2,41,124, around 1,91,798 students scored successfully in the exam, leading to a pass percentage of 79.54%.
The division-wise distribution is:
Science emerged as the best-performing stream of the year, both in terms of pass percentage and improvement trend.
Compared to the previous year’s decline, Science has shown a sharp rebound, making it the only major stream to record a clear upward trajectory. The performance has been widely viewed as a stabilising factor in this year’s overall academic outcome.
Commerce witnessed a slight fall in comparison to last year's performance but continued to maintain a good overall record.
