Assam government recruitment 2025: Applications begin for 489 posts under Directorate of Agriculture; check eligibility, syllabus and direct link to apply
Assam career 2025: The Directorate of Agriculture, Assam, under the Office of the Registrar, Assam Agricultural University (AAU), has invited online applications for 489 contractual posts under various agriculture extension projects. The recruitment is being conducted as per the directives of the Directorate of Agriculture, Government of Assam, and appointments will be purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Eligible candidates can submit their applications online only through the official website of the University. The last date to apply is December 31, 2025.

Eligibility criteria
Candidates must meet the prescribed nationality, age, educational qualification and experience requirements to be eligible to apply.
Nationality
- Candidates must be Indian citizens.
Age limit (as on January 1, 2025)
- Minimum age: 21 years
- Maximum age: 40 years for Deputy Project Director, Accountant-cum-Clerk and Computer Programmer
Educational qualification
- Deputy Project Director: Postgraduate degree in Agriculture or Allied Sector
- Accountant-cum-Clerk: Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)
- Computer Programmer: Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science or Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
- Block Technology Manager: Postgraduate degree in Agriculture or Allied Sector with graduation in Agriculture or Allied Sector
- Assistant Technology Manager: Graduate degree in Agriculture or Allied Sector
Candidates must possess the required qualification on the date of submission of application.
Experience (post-qualification)
- Deputy Project Director: Minimum 5 years of managerial or supervisory experience in agriculture or allied sector
- Accountant-cum-Clerk: Experience in accounting with knowledge of Government accounting systems preferred
- Computer Programmer: Minimum 2 years of experience in B.Tech and 2 years for MCA candidates
- Block Technology Manager: Minimum 2 years of experience in agriculture-related activities
- Assistant Technology Manager: Minimum 1 year of experience in agriculture-related activities
Selection process
The selection of candidates will be carried out through a written examination followed by document verification.
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on eligibility and experience.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test.
- The written examination will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark, with no negative marking.
- The final selection will be based on performance in the written test and document verification.
