The Assam State School Education Board has announced the HSLC Result 2026, bringing relief and excitement to lakhs of students across the state. The results, declared on April 10, recorded an overall pass percentage of 65.62%, showing a marginal rise from last year’s 63.98%.Out of 4,29,249 candidates who appeared for the exam, 85,189 secured first division, while 1,50,167 and 46,345 students passed in second and third divisions respectively. Additionally, 3,983 students achieved distinction and 13,681 earned star marks, reflecting strong academic performance.Who can appear for compartmental examStudents who failed in a maximum of three subjects but secured at least 170 aggregate marks are eligible to appear in the Compartmental Examination 2026. The exam will be conducted in a single chance only.Passing criteria and improvement chanceCandidates must score a minimum of 30% marks in each subject they appear for and secure at least 180 total marks to pass. Successful candidates will be eligible for admission to higher classes in the same academic year.Fee and application processStudents will have to pay Rs 500 per subject as examination fee, along with Rs 150 as centre fee.

Important exam guidelinesThe compartmental exam will be conducted only for theory papers. Marks obtained in practical and internal assessment will be carried forward. For core subjects, students must pass both OMR-based objective sections and descriptive parts separately.
