Article 19 gets underway at MIC on Feb 20
MANIPAL: Article-19, annual media event of () will be held on February 20. The 3-day event celebrates article of the Indian Constitution which grants its citizens freedom of speech and expression. Over the years, the event has grown in scale and quality- with eminent personalities including Prahalad Kakkar, Rahul Bose, Vinod K. Jose and Anand Ranganathan hosting sessions with the students.
Theme this year is 'The Roaring 20s'. Speaker line-up includes Harshveer Jain, IIT/IIM graduate who educates/entertains people through art on social media, Devanshu Kumar/Satyanshu Singh, award winning writer/director duo, Karthik Srinivasan, communications expert who builds, manages brand perceptions in client environments, Disha Oberoi, Radio Jockey, Bengaluru, and Shweta Kothari, journalist and news presenter.
"Article 19 is platform for students of MIC to learn about newer developments in media and entertainment sector as well as develop and showcase their creative and technical skills. It also provides them with opportunity to interact with prominent personalities of the media sector", says Padma Rani, director, MIC. Article 19 is lauded for its one of its kind competitions with unconventional rules that bring out individual creativity and improvisation.
This year's events include vast selection of games that tap into dynamic fields of advertising, public relations, filmmaking, graphic design and radio. Shruthi Shetty, faculty coordinator added, "Article-19, is one of the oldest media events and a student-run fest which focuses on quality, credibility and substance with an equal mix of entertainment making it a complete package that engages with all categories of the youth participants."
