AILET 2026 2nd merit list released at nationallawuniversitydelhi.in: Direct link to download here
The National Law University (NLU) Delhi has released the second merit list for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2026. The list has been published on the official website, nationallawuniversitydelhi.in, and includes candidates who have been provisionally selected for admission.
The second merit list is an indication of new seat allocations that have been made after the formation of vacancies in the first list. The vacancies are normally created when candidates who have been selected fail to take up their seats within the stipulated time or when they choose to join other institutions.
The candidates whose names are mentioned in the second list are provisionally selected and are required to move ahead with the next step of the admission process to secure their seat in NLU Delhi.
As per the official schedule, the candidates who have been selected in the second merit list are required to confirm their admission by paying the provisional admission fee within the stipulated time period.
In case the payment is not made within the given time limit, the automatic cancellation of the offered seat will occur, and the seat will then be sent to the next eligible candidate.
NLU Delhi has made it clear that seat confirmation is strictly conditional upon timely payment and compliance with instructions.
Candidates whose names do not appear in the second merit list are not out of the admission process yet. NLU Delhi will release subsequent merit lists if seats remain vacant after this round.
Historically, multiple rounds of lists are issued due to withdrawals and shifting preferences among top-ranking candidates.
The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2026 took place in December 2025 and witnessed the presence of thousands of candidates. NLU Delhi is still one of the most competitive institutions in the field of law, with very limited seats available.
Unlike the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), the AILET is held solely for NLU Delhi, and as such, every round of counseling is closely watched.
