Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on Wednesday September 21, announced that the Civil Services preliminary exam will be conducted on October 16. In the notice issued by OPSC, it was said that this examination will be conducted on Sunday, 16 October in five regions namely Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Baleshwar, Berhampur and Sambalpur. As per the notice, the two general studies examinations will be held at 10 am and 1.30 pm respectively. Each exam will be of two hours. Persons with disabilities will be given 40 minutes extra in both the exams.
The details of the schedule of the said examination will be notified later. Candidates are advised to visit the Commission's website opsc.gov.in for more details. OPSC is conducting this exam for recruitment to the posts and services falling under Odisha Civil Services (Group A and Group B).
After qualifying with good rank in OCS exam, candidates will be appointed against 405 vacant posts of Group-A and Group-B. A total of 50 posts of Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) Group-A (Junior Branch) services will be filled through this exam.
