"NTA is expected to announce the CUET-UG results by 15th September or if possible, even a couple of days earlier. All participating Universities may keep their web portals ready to start the UG admission process based on CUET-UG score," tweeted the UGC chairman Prof. M. Jagdesh Kumar.

Around 14,90,000 candidates appeared for the examination conducted in six phases from July 15 to August 30, 2022 at 489 Examination Centres located in 259 cities across India and 09 cities outside India.

The NTA on Thursday released the CUET-UG answer key 2022 on its official website. Candidates are given time till September 10, 2022 up to 11:50 P.M. to challenge the CUET-UG Answer Key online.

The payment of the processing fee may be made through, Debit card/Credit Card/Net Banking/Paytm up to 10 September 2022 (up to 11:50 P.M.). No challenge will be entertained without receipt of the processing fee. The Challenges will not be accepted through any other medium.

Grievances of individual students about re-test based on their experience in CUET (UG) – 2022 have also been considered, and such students are being informed through their registered e-mail address. The re-test is scheduled on 11 September 2022.

Earlier, the chairman said that no decision was taken on the merger of medical entrance exam NEET and engineering entrance test JEE with CUET-UG. Nothing will be imposed on students, he further said.

Kumar's comments came two days after Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan said there are no plans to merge JEE and NEET with the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for the next two years.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) chief had last month announced that Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) will be merged with the CUET in future.

With 14.9 lakh registrations, the CUET, the common gateway for undergraduate admissions in all central universities, is now the second biggest entrance exam in the country, surpassing JEE-Main's average registration of nine lakh. NEET-UG is the biggest entrance test in India with an average of 18 lakh registrations.

While JEE-Mains is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted twice a year, NEET is conducted in pen-and-paper mode.
