PG Medical Cut-Off: For admission to post-graduate medical courses for 2022-23, the Centre has decided to lower the cut-off marks. There were several seats that remained vacant in the last academic session of the postgraduate Counselling which led to the decision to lower the cut-off marks. PTI has been informed that the cut-off mark will be reduced by 25% across all categories.
The PTI report states that the National Medical Commission (NMC) made recommendations for the decision. Last year, more than 1300 seats were vacant, primarily in pre-clinical and para-clinical courses.
In a meeting held on 14 October 2022, the NMC recommended reducing the qualifying percentage. With the revision of cut-off marks, the revised qualified percentile/cutoff would be 25 percentile for general category candidates, 20 percentile for people with disabilities in general (PWD-general), and 15 percentile for SC/ST/OBCs and people with disabilities in SC/ST/OBCs.

An official source told PTI, "Since such post-graduate seats going vacant is a sheer wastage of resources in a country where postgraduate medical seats are premium, a decision to reduce cut-off for admission to postgraduate courses for 2022 23 by 25 percentile across all categories has been taken."
The NEET-PG exam this year took place on 21st May and the results were announced on 1st June.
