WBJEE 2023 Qualifications

A number of requirements must be met by applicants in order to be eligible for the WBJEE 2023. Things to Keep in Mind

The candidates would still be able to take the WBJEE exam in 2023 even if they do not meet the requirements for domicile eligibility. They will only be able to apply for a certain number of seats, though.
Additionally, eligibility for domicile is required for the tuition fee waiver (TFW) programme.
Candidates who filed for seats in their domicile but were unable to provide the certifications will be disqualified.
For the WBJEE 2023 counselling and allotment process, candidates are recommended to download the relevant proforma and keep all of their certifications on hand.

WBJEE Application Age Limit
The following is the age restriction for applicants taking the WBJEE in 2023.

The candidates must meet the minimum age requirement of 17 as of December 31, 2023.
Candidates have to be born on or before December 12, 2006, to be eligible. No maximum age is set.
Candidates who are interested in applying for Marine Engineering must be at most 25 years old as of December 31, 2023.

WBJEE Academic Qualifications Required

Must have passed the 10+2th (or equivalent) exam administered by a board that is approved by the federal and state governments.
Candidates must have passed Physics, Mathematics, and one of the following as required topics in the qualifying exam: Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, or Computer Applications.
The aforementioned disciplines, both theoretical and practical, should have been successfully completed individually in regular class mode.
Candidates who will take the qualifying exam will also be eligible to take the WBJEE 2023 exam.

WBJEE Marks Required

Candidates for the general category should have obtained an overall 10+2th (or equivalent) score of 45% in the three required subjects.
Candidates from the reserved category should have received an overall score of 40%.
Additionally, they had to have earned a minimum of 30% in English.

WBJEE Institution-Specific Requirements
Other than the basic WBJEE eligibility requirements 2023, some institutions have particular requirements that applicants must meet in order to be considered for admission.
Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Jadavpur University

Candidates must have earned at least 60% (45% for students in the reserved category) of the possible marks in the Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry sections of the 10+2 exam or an equivalent.
Individual passing marks in each of the aforementioned disciplines (both theoretically and practically) as well as at least 30% in English should have also been obtained.

University of Calcutta
For every subject offered, excluding Jute and Fibre Technology

Must have received at least 60% (55% for students in the reserved category) of the possible marks in the 10+2 or equivalent test from any recognised Council or Board, with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as required courses.
Along with passing marks in the aforementioned topics individually, candidates also needed to have a minimum of 30% in English and proficiency in the first and second languages of their native tongue.

For Jute and Fibre Technology

Candidates must have passed the 10+2 exam or an equivalent test from a recognised board or council with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 60% (50% for students in the reserved category) in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Biology as required subjects.
Additionally, the candidate should have earned a minimum of 30% in English and passed the EVS in the first and second vernacular languages.

West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences

Must have taken the 10+2 (or equivalent) exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as required courses, as well as have earned individual passes in each of these topics in the traditional classroom setting.
Candidates for the general category must have received at least 50% (or 40% for candidates in the reserved category) in the combined subjects of physics, chemistry, mathematics, and English.

Robotic engineering and computer science engineering for B.Tech.

Candidates must have earned at least 60% of their possible points in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Computer Science in their 10+2 or equivalent exams.
