Amritsar: Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) won Maulana Abul Kalam Azad (MAKA )Trophy for the year 2021-22, informed GNDU vice chancellor Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu here on Tuesday.
MAKA trophy is awarded every year by the ministry of youth affairs and sports to the best performing university in the country in the field of sports.
GNDU has won this distinct honour of winning MAKA Trophy for overall excellence in sports for the record 24th time, said the VC.
While hailing Dr. Kanwar Mandeep Singh, Director of Sports, all the players, their coaches, principals, and all other supporting technical officials for their sincere hard work in winning this prestigious award, he said that the university was having world class sports infrastructure available in its campus.
