When is the CBSE result expected?
The CBSE Class 10 and 12 results for 2026 are likely to be declared between late April and early May, although some reports suggest a possible release even before May 5.
Based on past trends, CBSE typically announces results in the second week of May, but this year’s faster evaluation process may lead to an earlier declaration. Class 10 results may be announced first, followed by Class 12, though both are sometimes released together.
Where to check CBSE results
Once declared, students can access their results through the official CBSE portals:
- cbse.gov.in
- results.cbse.nic.in
- cbseresults.nic.in
Additionally, results will also be available via DigiLocker and other digital platforms to reduce website traffic during peak hours.
Students will need their roll number, school number, and admit card ID to log in and view their scorecards.
How to download marksheets
Students can download their CBSE marksheets by following these steps:
- Visit the official CBSE results website
- Click on the relevant Class 10 or Class 12 result link
- Enter login credentials (roll number, school number, admit card ID)
- Submit details to view the result
- Download and print the marksheet for future reference
CBSE will also provide digitally signed marksheets via DigiLocker, which are valid for official use.
Passing marks for CBSE exams
To pass the CBSE board examinations, students are required to secure a minimum of 33% marks in each subject, including both theory and practical components where applicable. Those who are unable to meet this minimum qualifying criterion will be given an opportunity to appear for compartment examinations, which are conducted later in the year, allowing them a second chance to clear the subject and continue their academic progression.
What after the results?
After the CBSE results are declared, students should quickly plan their next steps. Class 10 students need to choose a stream—Science, Commerce or Arts—based on their interests and performance, while Class 12 students should focus on undergraduate admissions, entrance exams or skill-based courses. CBSE will also open windows for re-evaluation and compartment exams. With results expected earlier this year, students may get extra time to prepare for admissions and competitive exams.
