NEET UG 2026 registration opens: How to do live photo capturing for application
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened online registration for NEET UG 2026 from February 8, 2026. The students pursuing MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, BVSc, and AH, BHMS and the B.Sc. Nursing (MNS) programs are suggested to submit their applications before a one-month deadline that concludes on March 8, 2026. The time limit is very important because the number of applicants is huge and the available seats are very small, and any delay may lead to technical problems.
The NEET UG has added significant changes to applicants of this year, such as eKYC using Aadhaar and live photo capture. The students should make sure that their photo occupies at least 80 percent of the picture and should not be covered by caps, glasses, or goggles. Applicants will be able to post the photo either through the web camera or by scanning a QR code using a mobile phone. The submission of photos is important and must be accurate, as it will be verified on the day of exam.
The NEET UG 2026 exam is planned on May 3, 2026, between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM (IST). The application correction window will be available between March 10 and 12 with the fee payments having to be paid before March 8, 11:50 PM. It will be an exam in the form of pen-and-paper and will be available in 13 languages, such as Hindi, English, Bengali, Gujarati, and Marathi. The choice of the preferred language is crucial and the candidate cannot change it at a later time.
Centre application fees in India include the following:
In the case of centres, which do not have India as their location, all types cost 9,500. Payment can be made either through credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI.
Each candidate is allowed to submit only one application, which will result in disqualification in case of more than one submission. The online applications should be made on the official NTA websites (nta.ac.in or neet.nta.nic.in). Applicants have to attach a current passport-size photo, a scanned signature, residence document, and further documents as required. NTA recommends that one should use personal or parent-active emails and mobile numbers to get all the updates.
NEET UG is still the only entry point to undergraduate medical education in India. The admissions to all India and state quotas in MBBS, BDS, and other medical and nursing courses will be done based on scores and merit lists. High competition means that one should be able to submit forms early, be sure that all entries are correct, and concentrate on preparation.
