Dekh Bhai Dekh cast: Then and Now

Before saas-bahu sagas took over, there were shows which were out and out family entertainers. One of them was 'Dekh Bhai Dekh'. Within no time, the Diwan family had become a favourite with the audience. The viewers could relate to the characters. The show is still remembered by everyone. Here's how the members of the Diwan family look like now.

She was no doubt the cutest grandmother ever. Sushma Seth played the role of Sarla Diwan and was one of the most adorable characters of the show. Sushma has been part of the TV and Bollywood industry for over 45 years now. She is super active in the theatre field as well. Even after all these years, Sushma has her charm. Sushma was last seen in Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer 'Shaandaar'.

The over-dramatic and confused housewife of the Diwan family, Farida Jalal played the role of Suhasini and was amazing on the show. A popular actress, Farida has done a lot of movies and was last seen in television show, Satrangi Sasural. She got appreciation for her roles in Jeannie Aur Juju and Shararat.

Shekhar rose to fame by playing Sameer Diwan in Dekh Bhai Dekh. There was no looking back for him after that. Shekhar won millions of hearts by playing the cute and funny younger son of Diwan family. He became the 'next big thing' on TV after his stint in Dekh Bhai Dekh. The actor was then seen hosting his own show 'Movers and Shakers'. Shekhar last show on television was Saat Pheron Ki Hera Pheri.

She is funny, colourful and vibrant. Bhavana portrayed the role of Sunita Diwan and became one of the most loved characters of TV. Her character in the show was refreshing and people waited for her appearance on screen. She is also a popular face of Marathi film industry. Bhavana was last seen in Belan Wali Bahu as Premlata Awasthi.

Vishal played the son of Suhasini and Balraj. He was too cute in the show. Vishal was Sanju Diwan, the mischievous and flirty son of the family. After Dekh Bhai Dekh, Vishal bagged many roles in TV shows. He is currently seen playing Naitik in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

Kirti Diwan aka Nattasha Singh was Balraj and Suhasini's daughter and her appearance lit up the show. After Dekh Bhai Dekh, Nattasha made her Bollywood debut which didn't do well at the box office. She was also a part of shows like 'Saat Phere' and 'Milan'.

A household name now, young Urvashi played the role of Shilpa, Sanju's girlfriend in the show. The over-dramatic and possessive girlfriend stole millions of hearts by her performance. Urvashi did a lot of other TV shows, too, which added to her fame. She bagged the role of 'Komolika' in 'Kasauti Zindagi Kay' and was one of the most wicked vamps on TV. Urvashi, is a single mother of two twin sons, and also managed to win the title of Bigg Boss in season 6.

Though his role was a small one, Amar played the role of Sahil, a close relative of the Diwan family. Amar then went on to bag the role of Mihir in the most popular show 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' and is till date remembered for the part. Amar was last seen in TV show, Ishqbaaz, as Sahil Trivedi.

Veteran actor, Navin Nishchol, played the eldest son of the Diwan family - Balraj Diwan. He was a heartthrob of his time and did numerous movies and TV shows. Navin was seen in several movies as well, which made him receive a lot of appreciation. Navin died at the age of 65 due to cardiac arrest.
