Watch: Indian para SF train for rapid induction in challenging battlefield terrains

The 1 Para (Special Forces) Battalion, under the Indian Army’s western command, conducted a heliborne induction exercise, which demonstratedRapid deployment of troops and vehicles in the area of operation, via helicopters.In a video on Sansad TV’s X account, a Boeing CH-47 Chinook heavy-lift helicopter can be seen carrying a Light Specialist Vehicle (LSV).
The exercise demonstrates the Indian Army's capability to swiftly deploy special forces and tactical vehicles into the battlefield with challenging terrains.

H-47 Chinook

The unique 'twin blade' helicopter used in the exercise is, the H-47 Chinook, built by Boeing. This heavy-lift helicopter is operated by both the Indian and U.S. Army. As seen in the video, it is used for the transportation of troops and cargo, search and rescue, special operations, and disaster relief operations.It can reach up to 20,000 feet in altitude, and its modernised version, the Block II, has redesigned fuel tanks and an improved drivetrain.The Indian Air Force currently operates 15 Boeing CH-47F(I) Chinook helicopters.
