Indian company signs deal with US-based Northstar to bring advanced air-to-air refuelling systems to India
NEW DELHI: A Mumbai-based defence and space engineering company has entered into an agreement with US-based Bandak Aviation (DBA Northstar) to bring advanced air-to-air refuelling systems and related support to India in order to cater to the demand of the Indian armed forces.
The pact between Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd and Northstar will help bring advanced technologies in air-to-air refuelling systems to India as Northstar is globally recognised for its expertise in designing, developing, manufacturing, enhancing and provisioning of aerial (air-to-air) refuelling systems. These systems are widely deployed across a range of airborne platforms, enhancing mission endurance and operational flexibility.
Amit Mahajan, director, Paras Defence, said, “This agreement marks a significant step in expanding our capabilities in advanced aerospace solutions. Partnering with Northstar enables us to bring proven air-to-air refuelling technologies and support services to the Indian Armed Forces. We are likely to be the first company to do this."
A representative from Northstar said, “We are pleased to collaborate with Paras to deliver reliable and high-performance refuelling systems and services. This partnership reflects our commitment to supporting critical defence requirements with advanced and dependable solutions."
Paras Defence and Space Technologies delivers a comprehensive suite of indigenously designed, developed and manufactured products and solutions for the defence and space sectors. Paras is the only Indian company developing and manufacturing Optronic Periscopes in the Asia-Pacific region for submarine applications. Its technological footprint covers a wide spectrum of strategic applications — from naval systems, land and armoured systems, space research, electronic warfare, surveillance and electromagnetic shielding.
