Agreements such as the 2017 MoU on maritime security and the 2019 defence cooperation cement this strong relationship. These documents and understandings between the two nations have opened doors for joint activities such as the India–Myanmar Naval Exercise (IMNEX), Indo-Myanmar Coordinated Patrols (IMCOR), hydrography surveys, and training exchanges.
