Army contingent departs for Cambodia for CINBAX-II exercise
NEW DELHI: An Indian Army contingent has departed for Cambodia for bilateral military exercise CINBAX-II.In a social media post, Army said the exercise is scheduled to be conducted at Techo Sen Phnom Thom Mreas Prov Royal Cambodian Air Force Training Centre (Camp Basil) from May 4 to 17.Indian Army contingent comprises 120 personnel, mainly from a battalion of Maratha Light Infantry Regiment. The Cambodian contingent comprises 160 personnel from the Royal Cambodian Army, the defence ministry said.It said the exercise will focus on company-level joint training for conduct of operations in sub-conventional environments. Special skills training, including that for drone operations, mortar and sniper tactics, will be practised as part of exercise.The ministry further said the primary objective of the exercise is to enhance interoperability, coordination and operational synergy between the contingents of India and Cambodia. The joint exercise will be aligned with current dynamics of counter-terrorism operations during United Nations peacekeeping missions.
