Controversial exits from TV shows

According to a report on Bollywoodlife.com, Karanvir Bohra has revealed the real reason behind his controversial exit from the TV show, Qubool Hai. While vacationing with wife Teejay and co-star Surbhi Jyoti in Goa, Karanvir said that he wasn’t convinced with the show taking a leap in Season 3. The actor is of the opinion that the storyline was about Aahil and Sanam but the former character did not fit in the third season. Since the role was not exciting enough and the TRPs low, Karanvir chose to call it quits. However, he maintains that given an opportunity, he would love to work with the same cast and crew in the future.

Avinash Wadhwan: After the exit of popular TV actors - Anup Soni, Smita Bansal and Satyajit Sharma, the latest actor to jump on the quitting bandwagon is Avinash Wadhwan. The actor, who plays the role of Siddharth Shukla aka Shiv's father on the show has decided to quit the show.

According to a report in Bombay Times, Avinash didn't want to be a part of the generation leap, which was in the offing. However, there is also a buzz that the leap might not happen as of now. Avinash says, "The leap is inevitable. Basically, I don't want to play a grandfather. I had also committed to a Punjabi film that required me to travel outdoors. I'm thankful that the production house and the channel allowed me to quit." He tells us it's not the age, but the character that prompts him to take up a show. He adds, "I have played a father in Sapna Babul Ka... Bidaai as well. My priority is to play strong and powerful characters. I would love to play younger roles, but TV doesn't allow that, although men my age are still heroes on the big screen."

Sunil Grover: Sunil Grover’s exit from Comedy Nights with Kapil was one of the most shocking exits. The news not only came as a shock but the controversies leading up to it also upset the show's fans. Though initially the reason behind Sunil’s exit was cited as differences between producer-actor Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover, it was later revealed that Sunil left the show for better prospects. However, Sunil soon returned to the show after a brief stint in a rival channel's show.

Drashti Dhami: Small screen's popular actress Drashti made her debut as a host with Colors' dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. But the actress was apparently sacked by the channel. Drashti, who is also seen as Madhu in Madhubala- Ek Ishq Ek Junoon on the same channel, faced a lot of criticism for her hosting skills. This is said to be the reason why the channel decided to stop letting her continue with the host act.
The actress went ahead to tweet about the same. "Tweepies - my journey at Jhalak comes to an end. Thank u all for ur love & support :-)" (sic) Interestingly, the actress was the winner of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa last year.

Karan Singh Grover: The mystery behind TV heartthrob Karan Singh Grover’s exit from popular TV show Qubool Hai remains unsolved, even days after his exit. While the makers of the show and the channel are claiming that they have sacked the actor, Karan maintains that it is he who decided to quit the show. Another TV actor - Raqesh Vashisth has been roped in to play the role of Asad and it is to be seen whether he will be able to pull off the role like KSG.

Kushal Tandon: Kushal’s exit from Bigg Boss 7 was not less than a blockbuster masala Hindi film. He walked out of the show carrying his lady love Gauahar Khan in his arms after she fainted. The TV actor was dismissed from the show because of his violent behavior towards co-contestant VJ Andy. After his exit Kushal became an overnight sensation and a topic of discussion on social networking sites.

Pratyusha Banerjee: 2013 has been an eventful year for Television’s Balika Vadhu, Pratyusha Banerjee, with many good, bad and ugly moments. The actress took everyone by surprise when she decided to quit her claim-to-fame show Balika Vadhu. Though, Pratyusha and the channel maintained that they had amicably parted ways, several reports suggested that it was her tantrums that forced the makers to replace her.

Sonarika Bhadoria: Sonarika Bhadoria struck gold with the portrayal of Parvati in Nikhil Sinha's mythological saga Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev. However, owing to her continuous tantrums and unprofessional attitude, Sonarika was shown the door. Sonarika often complained about the star treatment that her co-star Mohit Raina (Lord Shiva) received. The production house did their bit to keep Sonarika happy however her growing demands left the production house with no option but to replace her.
